Honda Insight Information

In the original story, the introduction of the Honda Insight our long-term fleet, I have a bit of fun to say that when I first Clear Blue Sky hybrids have experienced, my knee-jerk reaction is “Ack, ack!” I do not think of a better way to greet a foreign intruder automotive rather than a mono-language word derived from foreign invaders classic Tim Burton’s “Mars Attacks!” (What? This is not a classic?)
But after 12 months and 19,591 miles of life with Insight JHMZE2H7XAS000078 serial number, the hardest question we have is not the shoe worn on reliability and the cost of ownership and so forth. Strangely, this oddity.

Honda Insight view

In order to control costs, Honda decided not to include the electric-assist air conditioning compressor used in the Civic Hybrid. The Civic Hybrid's electric-assist allows the air conditioning compressor to continue running (using battery pack power) to maintain cabin temperature when the engine is shut off in Idle Stop mode. Instead, the Insight limits the duration of the Idle Stop mode during air conditioning use and restarts the engine, when needed, to maintain cabin temperature. However, when the Insight's ECON function is engaged, a longer Idle Stop time is invoked for improved fuel efficiency at the expense of rapid cabin cooling.

The 2010 Honda Insight is an all brand new, hybrid just sedan resembling the Toyota Prius, but beginning from a more level cost. The Insight's effortless to drive nature and competitive cost make it a worthy Prius contender, but a redesigned Prius has leaped past it in fuel economy.
