Portage has released official mileage figures for the F-150 EcoBoost, and they indicate the Blue Oval's method of straight infusion and turbocharging can recover gas in the community's trucks. The twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 in the F-150 benefits 16 mpg city/22 thruway with rear drive, while the four-wheel-drive model is rated at 15/21.
Those are breathtaking numbers given that the EcoBoost motor produces 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. It's more compelling and more fuel-effective than the 5.0-liter V-8, which offers simply 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque; the EPA rates it at 15/21 in the F-150 with rear-wheel drive. The base 3.7-liter V-6 is thriftier still, at 17/23 in rear-drive design, but it just produces 302 hp. View our table beneath for capacity and efficiency numbers for every motor.
